Cat loved the water. 

The crashing of the waves.

The vastness. 

The calm.

The way the light reflects, bounces, creates patterns. 

The colors. 

The ocean.

The foggy haze.

Lake Michigan.

The Florida Keys. 

The Caribbean and the Aegean Seas. 

Sunrises.

Sunsets.

The sound of the waves.

The smell.

The rising and fall, the froth, stones rolling in the sand. Feet sinking in and footprints left, then washed away. 

Building castles. 

Feeling the warmth of the sun, a breeze, the glow of bioluminescence.

Swimming with sea turtles, dolphins, parrot fish, rays. 

Her children napping, shaded by colorful wraps, and rolling around in the sand. Seashells. 

Sipping iced coffee and capturing the endless shades of blues in watercolors. 

The calm before a storm. 

The clouds. 

Lightning, thunder. The rain. 

The feel of the sand between your toes. Walking together and walking alone. 

Sunshine chasing seagulls, digging holes, and running in the surf, sand, and waves.

On February 28, 2026, we gathered in Cat’s honor. To share stories, memories, laugh, cry, hug, grieve. 

To watch brilliant colors light up the sky as the sun set, dipping below the surface, and dolphins crested the waves. 

We joined together on a beloved beach to feel Cat’s presence, express our love, and celebrate a life well lived.  Your brilliance, creativity, kindness, caring, artistic talents, intelligence, organizational skills, generosity, positivity, smile, light, and love live on in anyone and everyone lucky enough to have ever been in your presence, orbit, circle.

We love you, Catharine Elizabeth (Hinman) King, (10/10/1974-1/10/2026), now, forever, and always, to the moon and back and even more. 💕💖💕

I love and miss you sister, my seester, my bestest friend, my confident, my person. Until we meet again…
